Silent Movement - Our gap year travelling the inland waterways

Monday 7 November 2011

Avon a lovely time

Yesterday the weather was gorgeous, another bright sunny day with blue skies and sunshine glistening on the water.
Bidford bridge
Bidford church where we went to an All-age service, Sunday morning.
passing Bidford boats, where we hired a boat with friends about 17 years ago.
and Evesham lock with the A frame house over a second lock.
The house is no longer lived in after flooding a few years ago. It is due for demolition apparently.
We moored overnight in Evesham alongside Workman gardens opposite the Abbey park. Didn't take any photos yesterday as light was going when we arrived and this morning it was so damp and dreary, still didn't take any. So no more views of Evesham.  We had a look around the town and listened to the carillon from the Abbey tower played on the hour.
We moved on down through the strange sounding villages of Fladbury and Wyre Piddle into Pershore. We have seen no other boats on the move at all today and have the moorings to ourselves at the recreation ground close to the town centre.

20 miles, 8 locks
